What Vampire Myth's are true?
Though the cure cancels out most of them, Vampires can not stand sunlight- a super weakness to ultraviolet light. Garlic, Silver, and Hawthorn Wood are all dangerously deadly to Vampire kind. Simply touching won't kill, but injection or leaving large pieces under the skin where they can worm their way into the blood stream will. Religious symbols can cause temporary to full blindness depending on the exposure. Religious words said allowed sound akin to the scratching of nails on a chalk board. Coffins seal out the light and though most of the younger vampires don't use them anymore, the elders view that as simply a kept tradition. Dirt from one's home country must be present in the sleeping area- spilled under the mattress or in a sachet pouch are two very common ways of dealing with this. Vampires cannot eat, but happily can consume anything liquid- though alcohol means consuming more blood. Animal blood isn't helpful, nor is blood that's been sitting around in a plastic bag. It's not necessary to drain a victim to death, some prefer to keep 'sheep' also known as Blood Slaves around.
Who leads the Vampires?
There is no definitive leader for the Vampires, however, power is gained with age. The older you are, the more people under you that will obey you. Currently, Vincente, is supposedly the eldest- and is who most regard as the 'leader type'. The Pro-Cure vampires are against this ageism and would rather have an elected leader, or better yet a say in governments as normal humans.
How are Vampires made?
They are not born. Vampires are unable to bare children- their bodies stop changing from the moment they are turned. Blood must be shared, and a good deal of it to- almost two pints. The vampire blood races through the human, fixing and repairing any damage done. The human falls into a coma like state for an indefinite amount of time- the more damage needed to be repaired, the longer the time. It's more painful than anything previously experienced, and many vampires turning people they love prefer to inject them with strong numbing agents. The blood the vampire takes links them to that human forever. Makers know everything about their fledgling; their emotions, locations, wants, and needs. Fledglings are more open to receptive to their Maker's mental sendings and are often unaware of how they know things about their Maker.
What about Werewolf Myths?
Werewolves are forced to change shape during the night before, during, and the night after the full moon. Their shape is a wolf, not a half wolf half human creature hybrid, and colors vary like among most wolf breeds. They run in packs, and with exceptions, are male dominated. Silver, like for vampires, can kill. It slowly dissolves in their blood, spreading and dissolving their insides like acid. Weres can change at free will, the skill coming easier with age.
How are Werewolf Packs run?
Packs are led by the Alpha pair- generally the son (or in rare cases daughter) of the previous Alpha Pair and his mate. Below them is the Betas, generally the Wolf or pair who are closest to the Alphas and can work together to keep the pack safe. It's very rare for Packs to mix with each other, and as the children of human/were matings aren't always weres fresh blood is hard to find. The pack works together, under the Alphas and Betas, to hunt, remain safe and content, and to raise the children. Werewolf children hardly make it into their toddler years, and those that are, are protected vigilantly. If the Alpha pair can't produce a child, one or both of them are replaced.
How are Werewolves Made?
Werewolves are either produced through mating and conception- like humans- or by being bitten. Any person bitten by a werewolf (in wolf form) has a 60% chance of turning. Of these 60%, only 30% will survive their first full moon. Some turned will be adopted into the local pack, others will strike out as a Loner- both if they reject the idea of a Pack or if they simply are unaware they exist. Human and Were matings hardly produce a were child, but if bitten these children will change and survive their first full moon. Werewolf children have a low survival rate and are fiercely protected.
