Appearance: Joplin is the type who does her own thing, her hair is naturally a fire truck red but she keeps it died black. Soon after dreadlocks were added, black and blue or black and white generally. They aren’t real, she wouldn’t do that to her hair but you will never find her without them so it’s hard to tell, especially since their made of real hair. She wears some odd clothes, everything from Gothic clothes to some of the clothes women wore in the early 1800's. Or she might just wear skinny jeans and an old baggy t-shirt. You never know with her, her fashion style changes every day. Sometimes you might not recognize her in general. She is naturally thin, one of those girls who could stuff her face and still be a tiny little thing. Course this is a good thing because she does stuff her face and being on 5'2 when you put on weight it's noticeable. Her skin is naturally quite pale, probably from growing up in the waste land of Siberia with not a lot of sun but who knows. Eye color is a strange shade of purple that generally draw her some unwanted attention since she has never met anyone else with that color.

Hair is died different colors every so often, sometimes she goes back to her natural color but to keep her hair healthy she doesn't color it very often. Well except that one time she bleached her hair out and she looked like an albino so she dyed it black almost a week later. Probably not the best of ideas but it worked. Currently her hair is black with blue streaks, black and blue dreadlocks falling to her shoulders. She has thin, delicate features, narrow shoulders, is fairly flat chested and has thin hips. She tends to keep her head down and not draw attention to herself so she doesn't do anything flashy but she does wear make up every so often, taking good care of her skin. Her most noticeable feature when wearing anything like a tank top that shows some of her back is the 4 long scars that have raised the skin on her back, very similar to claw marks though any vampire that sees her would know that made them. Because of these she tends to wear things that don't show off her back. And if she does decide to wear something kind of showy it will only be to go clubbing where it will be dark.

• Being alone; though she hates absolute silence she does enjoy simply being alone sometimes

• Semi-closed doors; when their just open a crack, it bothers her even more then closed doors bother her
  
• Public bathrooms; they are always disgusting no matter how much you clean them
  
• That 'in the spotlight' feeling; just knowning your being watched, half the reason she quit being a model
  
• Sarcasm; even though she speaks it as a second language it annoys the crap out of her
  
• Really loud clocks where you can here them tick; especially when all the rest of the room is silent
  
• People in white lab coats; just something about them always bother her
  
• The antiseptic, hospital smell; whenever she smells bleach or any other chemical she needs to leave
  
• Feeling trapped; no exits and not being able to run away is something that she fears the most
  
• Guys who won't take a hint; even after turning them down they keep persisting
  
• Back stabbers; when she gives her trust and someone turns around and betrays her
  
• Flickering light bulbs; they make her seriously consider firearms and the consequences of shooting the maintenance workers
  
• People talking really slowly; as if she can't understand them just because she has an accent and as if talking slower will make her understand better

• People who don't pick up the phone and it keeps ringing; especially when the ringer is loud or a song she really hates

• Cassettes; the tapes that came before cd's, you all remember those right? yah she's scared of those, long story short one blew up on her when she was younger

Personality: Joplin has never been the type to rely on others to help her get through life. Since both her parents are no longer around she is used to depending on herself. She is outgoing and likes to do things her way and likes putting a twist on usually boring things so she won't fall asleep but sometimes she's outgoing to the point of being pushy. She is loyal only to those who are loyal to her then to everyone else you better watch your back because this girl can hold a grudge forever. She is seductive and flirty and easy to get with as long as your not hard on the eye and is always up for a one night stand or having a friend with benefits but she has issues with relationships and often breaks them off the moment she finds someone cuter. She's smart, weirdly smart but she's lazy and always jumps into things without thinking them through. She's always up for a challenge and absolutely hates to loose but she's always willing to admit defeat if she's found someone she actually respects enough. Of course thats pretty much a one in a million chance. Also she is impulsive and has some anger issues. She would rather walk up to a person and punch them out then hear their side of the story.

She has a sharp tongue that usually gets her into trouble but when she finds someone who can take her quick remarks and shoot one back they've immediately earned some respect, respect enough to not put them on her kill list. She believes she's the queen bee and she intends to make it to the top eventually. But she also has a slow to burn temper so little things can set her off after a series of bigger things. If she heard someone insulting her or a friend while walking down the street you can count on her turning around and giving them a piece of her mind. She boarders stuck up and looks down at those who aren't 'worthy' in her mind. She likes to surround herself with people who accentuate her own beauty so she hates people who look better then her, absolutely hates them. She's a bully in this way and will give you a pretty little scar across your face if you get in her way. She knows about vampires and generally steers clear of them after she got that scar on her back. She also has that 'my way or the highway' personality and has no problem fighting someone to prove a point. She's one of those people you should stay away from but you just can't, there's something about her that draws other people to her.

But maybe thats just a mask because when not in the immediate presence of others she is quiet, secluded and twitchy. She is always looking over her shoulder, touching her back and hugging herself. She's especially paranoid about men after everything that happened with her step brother but nothing matches her fear of vampires. After what happened to her mother she will almost become paralyzed, unable to look at them as anything more then monsters. Werewolves are viewed the same way, animals but not much different then any other wolf or bear, simply animals. The fact that vampires make humans believe their safe then kill them if more what scares her then anything. Course not many other humans will know this fearful side, she's quite good at faking it, especiallt around those she knows at least a bit. Though she is a bit secluded even to everyone else if only on the fact her main language was Russian and she still speaks with an accent.
Flaws: The list goes on here. Her biggest flaw is generally the fact that she's very self sufficient. Some people might not take this as a flaw but you could also turn this around and say she doesn't trust anyone. She keeps to herself and if she has a problem she tries to sort it out herself instead of going to someone for help. This doesn't mean that she doesn't have friends she just has a sneaky way of getting to know them but avoiding any questions about her in a way that they don't find suspicious. Her other big flaw is that if someone is pissing her off they'll know. She always speaks her mind which isn't always a good thing and hates not being in control which makes her bad at group projects.
History: Joplin grew up in the frigid cold Siberia, learning many different languages including Russian and English. Now at 19 she knows 8 different languages, Dutch, German, English, Russian, Italian, Latin, French and Spanish. She had a brother who was 5 years older then her and she was very close to. At 6 her father died in a car crash, her brother took it much harder, Joplin had always been closer to her mother. It was around that time that her brother started to drift away. Her mother remarried 2 years later to someone both Joplin and Stephan hated and another male child was brought into their lives, someone Joplin's age. At 11 years old Stephan left, severed all connections with his family and Joplin was left with a rather creepy and slightly perverted step brother.

She lived the majority of her life avoiding her step brother who had fun trying to undress her, this only got worse as they got older. Course Joplin also grew up and one day when he grabbed her brand new dreadlocks and tried to pull her into his room she kneed him in the stomach and when he was on the ground she kicked him in the side of the head. He didn't bother her after that. Joplin attended a private school from when she was 10 until she was 16. At the end of grade 10, at the beginning of the summer Joplin was out with her mother, walking through a carnival when they were attacked in an ally. Couldn't really call it a mugging since the people who attacked them bit her mother's throat and drank her blood. Joplin ran and received 4 long scars from her left shoulder to her right hip. The only reason she got away was because they were killing her mother and the ally wasn't that long.

She woke up int he hospital not long after to find her step brother watching her with a smirk. The second she was out of hospital she went home, gathered her things, got her mothers money and made left home, changed countries, moved to America. She lived in New York for a few weeks but hated it, she was still a small town girl so not long after she moved to a small town. At 17 she moved to an even smaller town, Fort Smith, only to find it was over run with vampires and werewolves. She learned about vampires, how to pick them out in a crowd after what happened to her mother. She couldn't live in a place with so many creatures she despised so another move brought her to Vancouver at 18 years of age. She was scouted into modeling and had some fun doing it for a while but once again she began noticing the vampires, not to mention the werewolves in the forests. So when her aunt died and left her a house in the suburbs Joplin moved there without hesitation, taking a full time job at the local gun shop.

She flinched, pulling her thick fur coat tighter around her, trying to fight off the chill threatening to seep through her clothes and into her bones. It was cold in Fort Smith, but then again, it was warmer then Siberia was this time of year so she couldn't really complain. Purple eyes flitted to the sky, then to the trees then to the houses nearby. She felt paranoid, like people were watching her, of course ever since learning that there was a whole coven of vampires living in this town she always felt like that. But... They didn't hunt humans, she had been watching them for a while, instead of living separated from people they actually lived among them, like humans.

Oh god, there was that feeling again. She turned on her heel, walking backwards as she looked at the area that had recently been behind her. This feeling was disturbing, she was getting it constantly lately and she wanted it gone. She knew by now that she wasn't going to be able to live normally here but then again ever since her mother had died life had never been normal. Instinctively her hand traveled to touch the fabric of her coat covering her back, tilting her head forward so her long hair wasn't in the way. Pain shot through her back almost instantly and she winced. She had been having back problems ever since her mother had died, because of those 4 wounds.

But that wasn't what she had to deal with at the moment, no she had to figure out where she was to live. She had been staying at the church for the past week but she didn't want to live there for her entire life. The reverend had said that houses in Bellrock were cheep but Joplin had decided to check out Smith first. She had been wandering around a lot lately but she hadn't really been looking into housing. Bellrock was on her list of places to visit for that afternoon. She shivered again then turned and continued off down the road. Apparently it was an hour to walk there, 15 minute or so drive but that really wasn't that bad.
